Military Training Subject Matter Expert

Position Overview:
Valiant Integrated Services is in search of a proficient Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Doctrinal Training Team (DTT) in a Part-Time On Call capacity. This role will support the Army National Guard (ARNG) Mission Training Complexes and various Department of Defense (DOD) sites. The selected candidate will serve as a Full-Spectrum SME/Lead, overseeing collective training initiatives for the Mission Training Complex, which encompasses scenario development, script creation, and exercise management for MTC-driven collective activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expertise in military Live, Virtual, Constructive, and Gaming (LVC-G) training methodologies, including simulations and mission command training tools.
- Lead a team of DTT SMEs across diverse subject matter domains such as Intelligence, Maneuver, Fires, Protection, and Sustainment.
- Act as an advisor and mentor for Brigade and lower-level units throughout the planning and execution phases, including After Action Reviews (AAR) of MTC-driven collective events.
- Recommend effective LVC-G training strategies and techniques to fulfill and anticipate training needs.
- Design scenario-based exercises aligned with Unit Commanders' training objectives.
- Develop theater-specific scripting for Master Scenario Events List (MSEL) or simulation control injects that support training exercises and constructive staff training in a Live-Virtual-Constructive environment.
- Conduct thorough research on evolving military doctrine, operational specifics, lessons learned, and newly developed tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) to create accurate MSEL or simulation control injects.
- Ensure Unit Leadership comprehends MTC capabilities regarding operations, training, technical support, simulations, and distribution methodologies.
- During collective events, synchronize the capabilities of MTC training assets effectively.
- Oversee the administrative and operational leadership of a team of skilled trainers.
- Handle sensitive government data and represent the government in various meetings and conferences.
- Engage with corporate and customer management to clarify project scope, planning needs, and reporting requirements.
- Deliver comprehensive reports and implement ISO quality standards.
- Analyze progress and formulate necessary recovery plans or alternatives.
- Evaluate existing components or systems to determine integration requirements, ensuring final solutions meet organizational needs.
- Adhere to Company and Site Policies, Practices, and Procedures, exercising authority to recommend employee disciplinary actions as needed.
- Safeguard and maintain government-furnished equipment, materials, and facilities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in any field (Master's degree preferred). Completion of Command and General Staff College or equivalent military education is advantageous.
- Prior experience in a senior Army/ARNG leadership role with a background in training management and Combat Training Center (CTC) experience.
- Experience as a Combat Arms, Combat Support, or Combat Service Support Officer with primary staff experience in the relevant War Fighting Function at Battalion, Brigade, or Division Level.
- A minimum of six years of combined staff experience in the specific War Fighting Function or eight years of specialized experience in a similar MCTSP duty position.
- Recent involvement with the National Guard training support system is preferred.
- Qualifications in the Army Mission Command System within the War Fighter Function area.
- Experience as a Battalion commander or higher is preferred.
- Two or more years of experience with Computer Assisted Training exercises.
- At least eight years of experience with Military or DOD operations.
- Possession of a valid State Driver's License and maintenance of Post driving privileges.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance and meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
- Successful completion of the Defense Information System Agency (DISA) Information Systems Security (INFOSEC) Awareness training is required.
- Two years of experience in exercise planning using the Joint Exercise Life Cycle (JELC) process.
- Demonstrated experience in operational planning and simulations using ERF, MRF, and stimulating MCS is preferred.
- Fluency in English, with excellent verbal communication skills for effective interaction with military and civilian personnel.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, prioritize tasks, and perform under pressure.
- High levels of confidentiality and loyalty are essential.
