Overview of the Role
The Sports Coordinator is an integral part of our team at i9 Sports - Chesapeake/Suffolk/Portsmouth. This role involves building relationships with parents and coaches, observing and assessing coaches, and ensuring the instructional aspects of our program are met. The Sports Coordinator will also assist with set-up and breakdown of athletic fields and equipment, fill-in as a team coach if needed, and officiate soccer games as required.

Responsibilities and Qualifications
  • Develop and implement coaching strategies that promote player development and enjoyment.
  • Provide support and guidance to volunteer coaches to ensure they have the necessary tools to deliver high-quality coaching.
  • Supervise the overall operation of designated sports on game day, ensuring timely starts and smooth gameplay.
  • Collaborate with coaches and staff to develop and implement game-day schedules.
  • Contribute to the creation and implementation of marketing materials to promote our programs.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.

Education and Experience
A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as sports management, education, or a related field, is preferred. At least 2 years of experience in a related role, preferably in youth sports, is required. Excellent communication and organizational skills are essential, as well as a positive attitude and strong ability to build professional relationships.

Benefits and Compensation
