Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled CAD Engineer - Closure Design to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing detailed parts using CATIA, as well as conducting analysis of sections, components, and sub-systems to drive the design of individual parts to support the overall vehicle efficiencies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop detailed parts using CATIA
  • Conduct analysis of sections, components, and sub-systems to drive the design of individual parts
  • Manage the design of parts to ensure proper package and production release
  • Participate in collaborative design and creation of solutions for cost, weight, and efficient design
  • Contribute to the design of production facilities for closures systems of the Scout trucks and SUVs
  • Manage resources efficiently including external CAD resources
  • Be a key member within the closures team and liaison with Magna and external CAD sources
  • Closures co-lead for tolerance development
  • Closures lead for 3DX development and interaction with V5
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in design, vehicle design, and/or mechanical engineering, or a relevant field
  • Minimum 6+ years of experience in Closures or Body Structures CAD development and data collection
  • Expert in utilizing CATIA for designing and developing detailed parts
  • Expertise in V5 and 3DX (we will help with training to supplement 3DX transition)
  • Willingness to train team in 3DX usage
  • Strong technical skills and expertise in sheet metal design and closures systems
  • Familiarity with computer-aided engineering (CAE) or direct experience in this field
  • Strong communication skills
  • An ability to build strong working relationships with people across all organizational levels
  • Ability to manage remote teams that are in Mexico or off-shores

Scout Motors offers a competitive compensation and benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, and income protection plans, as well as a 401(k) program with an employer match and immediate vesting. We also offer generous paid time off, including 20 days of planned PTO, 40 hours of unplanned PTO, and 14 company or floating holidays annually. Additionally, we offer up to 16 weeks of paid parental leave for biological and adoptive parents of all genders, as well as paid leave for circumstances related to bereavement, jury duty, voting time, or military leave.

This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. The final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate-dependent. Initial base salary range = $120,000-$135,000. Internal leveling code: IC9.
