Custody Specialist

Vets Hired is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Custody Specialist to join our team. This exciting role offers a unique opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals within our facility.

As a Custody Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and secure custody of prisoners, enforcing facility rules and regulations, and maintaining order and discipline within the facility.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and control the custody and activities of prisoners
• Process prisoners upon arrival, including searching, securing belongings, fingerprinting, photographing, and transporting
• Conduct prisoner inventory and maintain accurate records
• Inspect facilities to ensure security and integrity
• Respond to inquiries from various stakeholders

Requirements:

• Certificate of completion from an accredited school of criminal justice or current Correctional Officer Certification from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement
• A valid Florida driver's license
• Meet minimum requirements under Florida Statute 943.13
