Job Summary

Mark III Construction is seeking a skilled Journeyman HVAC Technician to join our team in the Fresno area. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for installing, troubleshooting, and repairing heating and air conditioning systems to industry standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with customers to ensure exceptional customer service.
  • Install, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC units and heat pumps to ensure optimal system performance.
  • Troubleshoot malfunctioning HVAC systems to determine the cause of the malfunction and implement effective solutions.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance inspections to ensure proper system operation and make adjustments as needed.
  • Repair wiring and electronic components associated with automated building management systems.
  • Replace expansion valves, compressors, motors, coil units, and other component parts to ensure system efficiency.
  • Check distribution systems for proper velocity, volume, temperature, pressure, and other critical factors.
  • Determine the cause of and correct condensation problems to prevent system damage.
  • Prepare records and reports describing procedures, actions taken, and recommended solutions.
  • Prepare and submit requests for supplies and equipment to ensure timely delivery.
  • Complete all paperwork in a timely manner, including invoices, quote requests, and weekly timesheets.
  • Respond to emergency service requests to ensure prompt resolution.
  • Willingness to travel and work overtime, when necessary, to meet business needs.
  • Follow all pertinent rules and regulations, guidelines, safety orders, departmental operating procedures, and safety regulations to ensure compliance with applicable law.
  • Maintain all company tools, equipment, and company vehicle to ensure optimal performance.
Requirements

  • Strong mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot and repair complex HVAC systems.

Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) as a minimum educational requirement.
  • Trade school education a plus to enhance technical skills and knowledge.
  • Five (5) plus years of experience working with a variety of HVAC systems and equipment, including package units, boxcar units, split systems, and VAV systems.
  • Refrigeration, boiler, and chiller experience a plus, though not necessary.
  • Computer literate with the ability to navigate software programs via a tablet or smartphone.
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations
  • Industry certification (e.g., UTI, NATE) to demonstrate technical expertise.
  • EPA certification to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record for the previous three years.
