Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Case Manager to join our team at The GEO Group, Inc. The successful candidate will provide support and structure to residents in developing program plans, managing a caseload of client cases, and administering policies and procedures as directed by the contracting agency and the Facility Director.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a caseload of client cases, providing support and structure to residents in developing program plans.
  • Administer policies and procedures as directed by the contracting agency and the Facility Director.
  • Learn, use, and model the principles of the 'What Works' system through evidence-based practices in all interactions with clients and other staff members.
  • Train and assist less experienced case managers.
  • Perform duties of a Monitor, including resident intakes, check-ins, breath analysis, and drug screens, as needed.
  • Prepare written personalized programs for each resident, establishing measurable criteria of expected behavior and accomplishments and a time frame for achieving specified goals.
  • Review plans with residents on a weekly basis and document progress or revisions.
  • Assist residents in establishing personal budgets, locating suitable housing, enrolling in educational and vocational programs, and participating in family and community activities, as appropriate.
  • Monitor facility sanitation and safety, assigning daily housekeeping chores to residents as needed.
  • Orient residents upon arrival at the facility, providing a smooth assimilation into the program.
  • Make entries into confidential resident files, providing structure for case analysis and program planning, and documenting program participation.
  • Assist Job Developers in verifying residents' jobs, ensuring employment is suitable under established program plans.
  • Counsel unemployed residents, providing guidance in obtaining employment in cooperation with the Job Developer.
  • Verify residents' pass plans through pass sponsorship, ensuring accountability for whereabouts in the community.
  • Prepare terminal reports upon resident release, summarizing program performance and satisfying contract requirements.
  • Participate in staff meetings, sharing observations and recommendations regarding the facility, residents, and staff relations.
  • Maintain confidentiality obtained through job duties, providing sensitive information only on a 'need-to-know' basis.
  • Monitor client compliance with alcohol and drug counseling, as required.
  • Report program violations to the appropriate agency or official, as necessary.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a Human Services discipline or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Substance abuse or domestic violence certification or the ability to become certified preferred.
  • One year of experience as a Monitor or two years of work experience in a related field.
  • Familiarity with community corrections reentry systems and current community corrections reentry practices.
  • Familiarity with community workforce needs, public and private agencies, and employment services.
  • Ability to write clear, concise reports in English using correct grammar.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and calculate percentages.
  • Must be able to react quickly and appropriately in an emergency situation.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred, but not mandatory.
  • Ability to work with computers and necessary software typically used by the department.
