About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Stormwater Compliance Inspector to join our team in York County, SC. As a key member of our Planning and Development Department, you will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with our Stormwater Management and Sediment Control Ordinance, Stormwater Management Plan (SWMP), and Flood Damage Prevention Ordinance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct field inspections of commercial, industrial, and residential construction sites to determine compliance with County ordinances and policies.
  • Prepare and submit inspection reports, notices of violation, and stop work orders as necessary.
  • Provide technical assistance and information to contractors, engineers, developers, property owners, and other stakeholders.
  • Respond to public inquiries, requests for assistance, and complaints regarding construction projects and land disturbance incidents.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date project files for each site permitted or investigated.
Requirements
  • Associate's Degree.
  • Four (4) years of experience with regulatory agencies or programs or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Valid state driver's license.
  • Certified Erosion Prevention and Sediment Control Inspector (CEPSCI) certification.
  • FAA Part 107 Certified Drone Pilot certification.
  • NASSCO Pipeline, Lateral, and Manhole Assessment Certification.
