We are seeking an experienced Transportation Department Supervisor to join our team at Gold Star Foods. As a key member of our logistics team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of goods to our customers.

This challenging role involves supervising and training drivers to achieve high levels of safety and productivity, analyzing routes to optimize delivery times and costs, and conducting evaluations and appraisals of driver performance. You will also be responsible for dispatching, directing, planning, and coordinating daily operational activities to ensure the best use of resources.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and train drivers to ensure they meet safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Analyze routes to identify opportunities for improvement and implement changes to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
  • Conduct regular evaluations and appraisals of driver performance to ensure they meet company standards.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with drivers, colleagues, and customers to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
Requirements:
  • 3+ years of experience in transportation operations, preferably in the food industry.
  • Proven track record of improving safety and productivity metrics.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
