As an Industrial Pipe Installation Specialist, you will be responsible for the assembly, layout, installation, and maintenance of piping systems utilized in steam, fluid, or gas applications. The piping systems may encompass a variety of components including pipes, flanges, supports, valves, gauges, hangers, all-thread, Unistrut, and angles. This role may require work in diverse environments, including both indoor and outdoor settings, such as tanks or boilers.
Key Qualifications- Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Pipe Fitter or Pipe Fitter Helper.
- Proficient in reading blueprints and possessing a comprehensive understanding of pipe fitting techniques and procedures.
- Strong leadership and communication skills are essential.
- Experience in industrial construction projects is required.
- Interpret blueprints, P&ID's, schematics, and construction drawings in both 2D and 3D formats to ascertain the scope of work, including material locations, quantities, and sizes.
- Identify necessary tools for various tasks.
- Recognize safety hazards and implement measures to mitigate risks.
- Prepare, fabricate, install, and fit piping according to specifications.
- Install valves, hangers, supports, and flanges in accordance with project plans and applicable standards.
- Conduct pressure tests to verify the integrity of piping systems.
- Willingness to travel extensively, both domestically and internationally, for 60% or more of the time.
- Demonstrated experience in industrial construction and maintenance.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and manuals.
- Knowledge of pipe fitting processes for industrial piping and boiler components, particularly in combined-cycle power plants.
- At least 4 years of hands-on experience in pipe fitting.
- Strong problem-solving skills and manual dexterity.
- Excellent reading comprehension and ability to lead a job site effectively.
- Ability to collaborate with team members and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Effective communication skills with peers and supervisors.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, and lift for extended periods.
- Use of hands for signaling, gripping, holding, turning, pushing, and pulling objects and tools.
- May need to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Occasional work at heights, including climbing ladders and working on platforms.
- Visual acuity to focus on tasks at varying distances and perceive depth and color.
- Capability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and wind, for up to 12 hours a day.
- Compliance with personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements, including hard hats, safety glasses, ear protection, masks, safety vests, gloves, and steel-toe boots.
