We are currently in search of a Cybersecurity Governance Analyst to join our Federal team.

Position Overview

Effective governance necessitates a holistic perspective on the security practices of client organizations, encompassing awareness initiatives, training, and thorough assessments. This role collaborates with various business units and leadership to safeguard data and assets through the formulation and institutionalization of organizational security policies. As a Policy Consultant, you will possess experience in crafting and refining enterprise-level security policies and documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review, update, and sustain enterprise-level Information Security policy documentation while providing recommendations for enhancements.
  • Collaborate with team members by offering technical writing assistance (e.g., preparing and reviewing documentation) for both internal and external stakeholders as needed.
  • Conduct evaluations and analyses of existing security policies; identify policy deficiencies and draft proposals for new policies.
  • Revise any existing security policies that require updates in light of advancements in current technology.
  • Analyze and create security policies based on best practices to address specific areas or technologies as identified by stakeholders.
  • Facilitate ad hoc cybersecurity communications, including organization-wide messaging directed at staff, committees, and leadership offices.
  • Partner with cybersecurity personnel to establish policy guidelines and ensure that written policies are integrated into existing systems where applicable.
  • Maintain consistency in guidance and terminology across all policies.
  • Ensure quality assurance for all documentation, which may include new reports, responses to data requests, research papers, and other records as directed by Cybersecurity leadership.
  • Assist with transition activities as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Experience in assessing and enhancing system security policies and procedures in alignment with regulatory requirements associated with Federal and International standards.
  • Strong policy analysis and professional writing skills, including editing and proofreading capabilities.
  • Proven experience in reviewing and drafting security policies at an enterprise level within a federal agency or similar IT environment.

Education

A completed Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is required, preferably in a field related to IT.

Clearance / Suitability

Ability to obtain a clearance or a Public Trust is preferred; however, all clearance levels and non-cleared applicants will also be considered.

Certifications

Current certification in Security+ is preferred.

Years of Experience

A total of 5 to 7 years of professional experience in cybersecurity policy and development, ideally including experience in a federal environment or risk management framework.
