Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Early Head Start Teacher to join our team at Pathfinder Services. As an Early Head Start Teacher, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality early childhood programming to enrolled children and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement regular lesson plans that align with assessment data, the Early Learning Outcome Framework (ELOF), family preferences, and developmentally appropriate practices according to NAEYC, FSSA, and Paths to Quality standards.
  • Partner with parents to provide high-quality early childhood programming through shared goals, nutrition assessments, and parent engagement programming.
  • Assess children's development regularly and share this information with families, providing regular opportunities for children to learn and grow through hands-on experiences and activities.
  • Follow Indiana Child Care Licensing Guidelines for the responsive physical care of children in classrooms, implement a regular and predictable schedule of activities that aligns with licensing guidelines and individual child needs, and use the Conscious Discipline Curriculum to help children develop social-emotional skills.
  • Comply with Indiana Childcare Licensing Regulations regarding health and safety, classroom environment, positive discipline, and required postings.
Requirements
  • A minimum of an infant/toddler CDA or 120 hours specific to infant/toddler development. An associate or bachelor's degree in early childhood education or a related field.
  • Staff hired with a degree in a related field have four months to complete CDA coursework equivalent to 120 hours of infant/toddler-specific training.
  • At least 21 years of age.
  • Basic language, written, and computer skills necessary for communication and documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to support people with disabilities.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule if needed.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to speak, hear, and read the English language.
  • Ability to run, squat, stoop/bend, kneel, and climb stairs.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and push/pull against potential resistance.
  • Ability to implement CPR and First Aid when needed.
