Job Overview

Amergis is seeking a skilled Dental Assistant to join our team. As a Dental Assistant, you will provide critical support to dentists during patient care and play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our dental services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient Preparation: Prepare patients for dental procedures, sterilize and disinfect instruments, set up instrument trays, prepare materials, and assist dentists during procedures.
  • Medical and Dental Histories: Take and record medical and dental histories, exposing dental diagnostic x-rays as needed.
  • Assisting Dentists: Assist dentists in managing medical and dental emergencies, instructing patients in oral hygiene and plaque control programs, and providing postoperative instructions prescribed by dentists.
  • Clerical Duties: Record treatment information in patient records, schedule appointments, prepare bills, receive payment for dental services, complete insurance forms, and maintain clerical records manually or using a computer.

Requirements:

  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Licensure/Certification: Current license/certificate within state of practice required.
  • Experience: One year experience as a Dental Assistant preferred.
  • Skills and Qualifications:
    • Compliance with professional standards of practice.
    • Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency program (when applicable).
    • CPR certification (if applicable).
    • TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray (if applicable).
    • Current health certificate (per contract or state regulation).
    • Ability to meet federal, state, and local requirements.
    • Successful completion of new hire training (as applicable to job site).
    • Understanding of patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements.
    • Strong communication skills and proficiency in the English language.
    • Computer proficiency.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary of $35,000 - $45,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits including health, dental, vision, and life insurance, 401(k) savings plan, and awards and recognition programs. Benefit eligibility is dependent on employment status.
