About the Job:

As a Cardiology ICU Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans that meet the unique needs of each patient.

Responsibilities:
  • Prescribe, delegate, and coordinate patient care using clinical judgment and evidence-based guidelines.
  • Ensure patient care meets standards of safety, effectiveness, patient rights, and guest relations.
  • Oversee care delivered by the patient care team and coordinate the plan of care.
  • Provide education and facilitate learning for patients, families, and the patient care team.
  • Collaborate with physicians, families, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement an appropriate plan of care.
  • Advocate for patients, represent their concerns, and identify and assist in resolving ethical and clinical concerns.
  • Accurately and thoroughly document all patient encounters in EPIC.
  • Ensure the protection and security of Patient Health Information (PHI) at all times.
  • Adhere to all infection prevention initiatives.
  • Deliver competent and skilled care to patients and families according to their identified needs.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to achieve the best patient outcomes.
Work Experience:
  • At least 2 years of job-related experience preferred.
Education:
  • Four-year bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • All bedside nurses with 50% or more direct patient care must have a minimum of a BSN by July 1, 2021.
  • New employees must have a BSN at time of hire.
Licenses and Certifications:
  • Current license to practice professional nursing in the State of Texas required.
  • BLS certification approved by the American Heart Association required.
  • PALS/NRP/ACLS certification required.
  • PACES certification required within 6 months of hire.
