About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Radiation Therapist to join our team at Atrium Health. As a Radiation Therapist, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality patient care and ensuring the safe and effective use of ionizing radiation in the treatment of cancer.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer ionizing radiation to patients in accordance with treatment plans and regulatory guidelines.
- Monitor and maintain radiation equipment, identifying and reporting any malfunctions or safety concerns.
- Accurately document patient treatment records and schedules.
- Recognize and report any patient concerns or physical problems to appropriate personnel.
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing clear instructions and procedures.
- Assist in the clinical instruction of Radiation Therapy students.
- Provide radiation therapist coverage at multiple Atrium Health locations, including the ability to cover up to two sites in the same day.
Requirements
- Graduate of an AMA-approved school of Therapeutic Radiology or international equivalent.
- ARRT registered or registry eligible, with a requirement to pass the registry within the first 90 days of employment.
- BLS certification per policy guidelines.
Physical Demands
This role requires the ability to walk, stand, sit, lift, reach, stoop, bend, push, and pull. The successful candidate must be able to lift and support 35 pounds, possess intact senses of sight, hearing, smell, and touch, and demonstrate finger dexterity and critical thinking skills.
