Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Literacy Specialist to join our team at Community Unit School District 308. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting teachers and administrators in the implementation of evidence-based literacy practices, with a focus on increasing student engagement and improving student achievement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement literacy programs and initiatives to support student achievement
  • Provide coaching and support to teachers on literacy instruction and assessment
  • Collaborate with administrators and teachers to develop and implement curriculum and instructional strategies
  • Disaggregate and analyze data to inform instruction and make data-driven decisions
  • Develop and maintain relationships with teachers and administrators to build trust and support
  • Stay up-to-date on best practices in literacy instruction and assessment
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Reading, Literacy, or related area
  • Valid/registered Illinois Professional Educator License with a reading specialist endorsement and a bilingual Spanish endorsement
  • Minimum five years of successful teaching experience
  • Leadership experience
