Material Handling Team Member

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our warehouse team in Hauppauge, NY. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for operating a stand-on forklift to receive, load and unload shipments, and safely transport pallets and materials.
Responsibilities:
- Operate a stand-on forklift to receive, load and unload shipments, and safely transport pallets and materials
- Assist with inventory management, including conducting cycle counts and maintaining accurate records
- Collaborate with the forklift team to optimize stock locations, prioritize purchase orders, and ensure timely delivery of products to customers
- Cross-train to pick, pack, and ship customer orders
- Work independently and as a team on other warehouse projects as needed
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3+ years of experience driving a stand-on forklift within a warehouse or distribution site
- Must have unexpired forklift certification and proof of current forklift certification
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Functional knowledge of the mechanics of a forklift to maintain proper forklift operation
- Experience working in a warehouse management system (WMS)
- Ability to operate pallet jacks, hand trucks, and motorized warehouse equipment in accordance with safety protocols and procedures
- Basic mathematical skills
- Ability to speak, read, write and understand English to comprehend product information
- Excellent work ethic, hard-working, and a reliable team member
- Excellent attention to detail and prioritization skills
- Successful working in a team as well as independently
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for shifts ranging from 8 – 10 hours
- Ability to repetitively lift, carry, push, or pull weights of up to 50 pounds; products vary in weight and size
- Willing to work overtime as business needs may require
