We are currently offering a unique Temporary Assignment Program (TAP) that allows you to work three shifts a week along with every other weekend for a duration of 13 weeks. As a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), you will play a crucial role in enhancing the respiratory health of our medically intricate patients through tailored treatment strategies. Our Respiratory Therapy team is an integral part of our committed multi-disciplinary team, tackling complex cases in a critical care setting.
Position Overview:
As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for administering various forms of respiratory care and treatments as designated by the Department of Respiratory Therapy.
Work Schedule: Night shifts and every other weekend, with holiday rotation as necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a resource across all patient care areas, maintaining frequent interactions with patients, often in critical situations.
- Engage in Code Blue teams and rapid response teams, develop patient care plans, and perform a range of invasive procedures.
- Administer respiratory medications and therapeutic gases effectively.
- Analyze vital signs and physiological changes, taking appropriate actions based on your observations.
- Monitor patient equipment related to pathophysiological activities and respond accordingly.
- Exercise independent judgment in various tasks.
- Collaborate with our Pulmonary Physician Team, participating in daily rounds and executing pulmonary orders.
- Current RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) License.
- Preferred minimum of one year of hospital experience, with critical care experience being advantageous.
- Up-to-date BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
- Detail-oriented, team-focused, and goal-driven.
- Professional, positive, and empathetic demeanor.
- Flexibility in work schedule is essential.
