Job Title: Special Education Teacher

Job Summary:

ProCare Therapy is seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to provide individualized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs. As a Special Education Teacher, you will develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and collaborate with students, families, and educational staff to foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement IEPs for students with special needs.
  • Provide direct instruction and support to students in various settings, including inclusive classrooms, resource rooms, and specialized programs.
  • Utilize a variety of instructional strategies to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and other school staff to develop and implement effective support strategies.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress through data collection and analysis.
  • Provide individual and group support to students to address academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, case conferences, and professional development activities.
  • Conduct assessments to determine students' strengths, needs, and eligibility for special education services.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress, interventions, and services provided.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and guidelines related to special education.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in special education.

Qualifications:

  • Valid California teaching license in Special Education.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience providing special education services in a school setting.
  • Strong knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with students, families, and team members.
  • Proficiency in data collection and analysis.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a caseload effectively.
  • Commitment to maintaining professional development and staying current with industry trends.
