Role Overview

The Visual Merchandising Specialist works closely with the Visual Merchandising Manager to craft an emotionally resonant atmosphere, designing both two- and three-dimensional displays that embody the customer's love for exploration, creativity, diversity, and authenticity.

To be eligible for this position, candidates must provide a portfolio or samples of their previous work.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Engagement
  • Collaborates with the Visual Merchandising Manager to develop a captivating visual experience that resonates with the brand's clientele and reflects current trends in art, design, culture, architecture, and fashion.
  • Understands the influence of display and merchandising on store performance and profitability.
  • Engages customers through display initiatives on the sales floor and fosters community connections through workshops, events, and gatherings when applicable.
Leadership and Team Development
  • Guides the team by instilling visual expectations, operational standards, and effective materials/tool management.
  • Participates in store meetings to share inspiration, innovative ideas, and relevant updates from the Home Office and Field Leadership.
  • Takes initiative on projects to enhance display expertise and elevate craftsmanship; assists in identifying and mentoring future display talent.
Visual and Operational Management
  • Contributes to the display planning process by sharing inspiration, generating concepts, and sketching; prioritizes projects and tracks progress against timelines while adhering to the visual budget.
  • Implements seasonal direction and inspiration from the Home Office to cater to the unique needs of the store; constructs fixtures and maintains signage that meets presentation standards.
  • Designs and installs high-quality interior and window displays, ensuring clean de-installation; maintains cleanliness and organization of display areas and takes responsibility for maintenance and repairs on the sales floor.
  • Supports a customer-first philosophy by adjusting schedules to meet business needs and providing zone coverage as required.
Communication and Relationship Building
  • Fosters an inclusive work environment by actively listening and valuing diverse perspectives.
  • Establishes and nurtures productive relationships with team members, contributing to a culture of strong communication and collaboration; remains open and responsive to feedback.
  • Regularly checks in with leadership to ensure effective communication and teamwork in achieving store objectives; demonstrates flexibility by adjusting priorities as necessary.
  • Enhances team morale through brand and store initiatives, employee recognition, and team-building activities.

  • Previous experience with construction, drafting, and a working knowledge of power tools (including but not limited to circular saws, miter/chop saws, jig saws).
  • Ability to present examples of previous work or a portfolio.
  • Willingness to work early morning shifts on weekdays.
