Job Summary

Millersville University is seeking a highly skilled Fiscal Technician to join our team in the Office of Student Accounts. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing accounts placed with external collections agencies, maintaining contracts and waivers on student accounts, and serving as a liaison with the Office of the Attorney General. If you have a strong background in accounting and financial management, excellent analytical and organizational skills, and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service, we encourage you to apply.

Key Responsibilities
  • Research and evaluate past due student accounts to ensure accurate and timely collection of payments.
  • Prepare and review financial reports to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with the Office of the Attorney General to assign uncollectible accounts for collection or write-off.
  • Maintain and apply all student waivers and contracts to ensure compliance with university policies and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain waiver instructions to ensure clarity and consistency.
  • Manage direct billing processes and serve as the military liaison with ROTC and other organizations.
  • Perform other office duties as assigned, including mail merges, processing mail, and verifying financial aid payments.
Requirements
  • One year of experience in a fiscal or financial role, with a strong background in accounting and financial management.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word, as well as experience with Banner, OnBase, and SAP.
  • Customer service experience and a commitment to providing exceptional service to students, parents, and campus constituents.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience in higher education and accounts receivable and/or banking.
Work Environment

The Fiscal Technician will work in a typical interior/office work environment, with no or very limited physical effort required. The ability to sit for long periods of time and lift/pull/push up to 10 pounds is necessary.
