Job Summary

This is a Contract position for 6-12 months. The University of California San Francisco (UCSF) Medical Center is seeking an Intraoperative Neurophysiological Monitoring (IONM) Fellow interested in obtaining training for a career in IONM. This position targets two distinct classes of candidates: Transition and Clinical Classes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Obtain training in IONM to transition into the field
  • Gain clinical experience to become credentialed in IONM
Requirements
  • Transition-Class: Doctorate degree in physical science, life science or clinical allied health profession (Ph.D., M.D., D.O., D.C., Au.D. and D.Pt.)
  • Clinical-Class: Undergraduate degree in physical science, life science or clinical allied health profession (B.A. or B.S.) with a specialization in IONM
  • Strong computer literacy
  • Literacy and Fluency in English; Clear, concise written documentation and interpersonal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Coursework in anatomy, electrophysiology, neuroscience &/or medicine
  • Experience with research methodology and scientific publications
  • Potential to qualify for DABNM after meeting experience prerequisites (Transition-Class)
  • Language mapping or neuropsychological testing experience
License/Certification
  • Certification in Neurophysiologic Intraoperative Monitoring (CNIM) within 6 months of the start of internship
