Job Summary

The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) plays a vital role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care in the oncology department at Good Samaritan Hospital. As a key member of the healthcare team, the CNC is responsible for coordinating patient care, managing staff, and promoting a culture of excellence and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient patient throughput and high-quality care.
  • Participate in the ongoing assessment of patient care services and collaborate with subject matter experts to improve outcomes and service.
  • Support a patient-first philosophy and engage in service recovery when necessary.
  • Collaborate with staff to operationalize current nursing strategies, including employee rounding, hourly rounds, and other initiatives.
  • Provide recommendations related to interviewing, selecting, and training new staff, as well as implementing courses of action to ensure a competitively better organization.
  • Assist with staff scheduling and manage all practical aspects of staff labor in accordance with patient care needs and established productivity guidelines.
  • Support proper inventory control and assist with managing supplies and equipment.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse license in California
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
  • 2 years clinical acute care Oncology experience required
  • Leadership and management experience preferred
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)
  • ONS Chemotherapy/Biotherapy must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
