Job Summary
As a Patient Services Representative, you will play a vital role in the front office management and operation of our internal medicine practice. Your responsibilities will include patient registration, pre-certification, charge capture, and accurate coding of diagnoses. You will also be responsible for posting payments, balancing computer reports, and maintaining a high level of public contact with excellent interpersonal skills. Additionally, you will arrange for patient pre-payments, enforce financial agreements, and gather charge information, codes, and enter it into the database. You will also file insurance claims, assist patients with completing insurance forms, and process unpaid accounts by contacting patients and third-party payers.Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for complete and accurate patient registration, pre-certification, charge capture, and accurate coding of diagnoses.
- Posts payments, balances computer reports, and maintains a high level of public contact with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Arranges for patient pre-payments, enforces financial agreements, and gathers charge information, codes, and enters it into the database.
- Filles insurance claims, assists patients with completing insurance forms, and processes unpaid accounts by contacting patients and third-party payers.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent OR Post-high school diploma.
- No previous experience required.
- Associate's Degree in technical specialty program of 18 months minimum in length - Preferred.
- Multi-specialty group practice setting experience - Preferred.
- Basic understanding of ICD-9 and CPT coding - Preferred.
