Job Summary

The Respiratory Care Specialist PRN plays a vital role in delivering high-quality patient-centered care. As a Registered Respiratory Therapist, you will coordinate and administer respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication, and chest physiotherapy. Your expertise in ECMO therapy will support patients with severely impaired heart/lung function.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform patient assessments, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure.
  • Conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for and response to respiratory therapy.
  • Assist with artificial airway placement and initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation.
  • Administer respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery and aerosol medication.
  • Cite indications, contraindications, risks, and benefits for venoarterial and venovenous ECMO support.
  • Prepare and operate clinical equipment and circuitry per ECMO policies/procedures.
Requirements
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification within 30 days of employment start date.
  • RRT/Respiratory Care Practitioner certification within 60 months of employment start date.
  • Associate Degree.
