About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Counselor to join our team at CommonSpirit Health Mountain Region. As a Senior Financial Counselor, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our patients receive the financial support they need to access quality healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer Medicaid Presumptive Eligibility, Medical disability, long-term care applications, and Hospital Financial Assistance Programs.
  • Act as a liaison between patients, physicians, patient clinics, accounts, and community agencies.
  • Perform financial screenings on patients and make determinations based on provided information, directing patients to the appropriate financial program.
  • Counsel patients regarding their financial obligations and collect monies owed for medical services.
  • Administer and counsel insured and non-insured patients on payment plans and/or package pricing, and write off or adjust accounts as deemed necessary.
  • Interact with executives and other leadership on approval of payment plans or settlements.
  • Work closely with Patient Representatives in researching and handling patient complaints related to billing.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma/G.E.D. required.
  • Preferred 1 year healthcare experience.
  • Preferred knowledge of registration and billing, and credit scoring.
  • Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding and medical terminology.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Accurate computer typing skills.
