Job Summary

Norman Regional Health System is seeking a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team. As a Speech-Language Pathologist, you will be responsible for assessing patients' conditions and establishing plans of care.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct initial and ongoing assessments of patients' conditions and develop individualized plans of care.
  • Implement therapy programs using evidence-based speech therapy techniques tailored to patients' needs.
  • Document the delivery of Speech Therapy services to ensure accurate patient records.
  • Provide education to patients, family members, caregivers, and significant others to promote understanding and support.
  • Promote physical rehabilitation services through community-based education, marketing opportunities, and support groups.
  • Supervise and educate students from accredited speech therapy programs as a Clinical Instructor.
  • Act as a preceptor to mentor and guide new team members.
  • Participate in planning for the provision of patient care services to ensure seamless delivery.
  • Provide in-service training to staff upon returning from continuing education or professional conferences.
  • Perform inpatient and outpatient fiber optic endoscopic evaluation of swallow (FEES) procedures.

Requirements

A Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology is required. Previous experience in a hospital setting, particularly with dysphagia, is preferred. Medicare documentation experience is also highly valued. For Outpatient settings, experience with outpatients, dysphagia, Vital Stim certification, and Medicare documentation is preferred.

Licensure/Certification/Registration

A current Oklahoma license for Speech-Language Pathology or SLP license eligibility with a temporary license is required. ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence or completion within the first year under a licensed therapist as a CFY is also necessary. Basic Life Support (BLS) training or re-training is required during orientation prior to providing patient care, and current Basic Life Support (BLS) must be maintained through re-training for the duration of employment.
