Theater Assistant Manager Job Description

At McMenamins, we're seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our team as a Theater Assistant Manager. This role is responsible for assisting the Assistant Manager and Head Manager in overseeing all theater operations, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience for our guests.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in managing theater operations, including opening and closing duties, section assignments, and staff supervision.
  • Prepare, cook, and serve food, as well as deliver products in a timely manner.
  • Collect payment, cashier, and work on a point-of-sale computer system.
  • Set up, maintain, and break down service and work areas to ensure efficiency and safety.
  • Regulate labor, oversee side work, and perform cleaning duties.
  • Supervise and train staff, as well as handle administrative tasks such as scheduling, payroll, and ordering.
  • Effectively deal with personnel and customer service issues, providing excellent service to meet guest needs and requests.
Requirements:
  • Previous related experience is required.
  • Ability to accurately handle cash and work with numbers.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • A flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Essential Functions:
  • Provide excellent customer service and effective shift management.
  • Work in a dimly lit theater environment.
  • Work for long periods on feet, including frequent walking, stair climbing, and working outdoors in varied weather conditions.
  • Repetitive movement, such as pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, and stooping.
  • Fine hand manipulation, including handling small and large objects, computer keyboard usage, writing, chopping, and use of kitchen equipment.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, be positive, polite, and cooperative with co-workers, managers, vendors, and customers.
  • Safely lift and carry heavy objects with a hand truck or the help of another person if necessary.
  • Ability to effectively manage others in a positive and professional manner.
  • Handle complaints in a professional and positive manner.
