KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Maintenance Mechanic will undertake a variety of tasks including:

  • Diagnosing mechanical and operational issues on designated equipment and planning corrective measures.
  • Executing necessary adjustments to optimize production efficiency and product quality.
  • Conducting tests on machinery to ensure proper functionality.
  • Clearing equipment jams and preparing products for quality inspection.
  • Performing post-repair trials on machinery to verify operational integrity.
  • Monitoring and recording product quality metrics using appropriate instruments.
  • Conducting preventive maintenance checks and inspections, reporting findings to the supervisor.
  • Identifying and analyzing defects to implement corrective actions.
  • Documenting causes of production delays in daily reports.
  • Communicating recurring equipment issues to the maintenance team or supervisor.
  • Providing guidance to maintenance trainees as needed.
  • Performing visual inspections and testing machinery for unusual sounds indicating malfunctions.
  • Collaborating with supervisors and fellow maintenance staff to troubleshoot machinery issues.
  • Executing repairs on machinery within cold storage environments.
  • Dismantling faulty machines and installing new or refurbished components.
  • Maintaining and lubricating various machine parts.
  • Assembling and maintaining piping systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
  • Repairing and replacing gauges, valves, and pressure regulators.
  • Utilizing cutting torches or welding equipment for metal work.
  • Completing additional tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of two years in a related field.
  • Valid California Driver License.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Willingness to work rotating shifts on a continuous seven-day cycle.
  • Attention to detail and thoroughness in task completion.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools and trade-specific equipment.
  • Ability to comprehend technical manuals and equipment documentation.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Capability to establish and maintain professional relationships.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Exposure to wet and humid environments.
  • Interaction with moving mechanical parts.
  • Occasional exposure to fumes and airborne particles.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Capacity to stand and walk for extended periods.

WORKING HOURS:

3rd Shift - 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM; overtime, weekends, and holidays may be required based on operational needs.
