Job Summary

The Housekeeping Assistant is a vital member of our team at Columbus Colony for Elderly Care, responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and attractive environment for our residents. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of general housekeeping/cleaning duties in various areas of the community, including offices, resident rooms, common areas, and facilities.
  • Follow established cleaning schedules and protocols to ensure a high level of cleanliness and sanitation.
  • Restock supplies, including soap, towels, and cleaning products, as needed.
  • Empty and clean waste baskets, and replenish liners as necessary.
  • Assist with terminal cleaning duties, including preparing rooms for new residents and following established procedures for isolation units.
  • Perform emergency housekeeping duties as needed.
  • Work with other housekeeping assistants, elderly residents, families, and healthcare staff to ensure a smooth and efficient operation.
Requirements
  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.
  • Six (6) months to one (1) year of related experience preferred.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Ability to read, write, understand, and speak the English language.
  • Ability to operate and utilize basic housekeeping equipment and supplies.
