Job Summary

The Office of Clinical Research in the Department of Surgery at the University of Wisconsin-Madison is seeking a highly skilled Surgery Research Portfolio Manager to support surgical clinical research. This role will be responsible for managing the activation, maintenance, and closure of clinical trials, as well as providing expertise on clinical research principles and study guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and coordinate administrative, operational, outreach, and promotional activities related to research studies.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and provide guidance to investigators, clinical research staff, and other stakeholders.
  • Coordinate daily activities and contracts related to one or more research programs.
  • Assist in the development, coordination, and facilitation of trainings and workshops for internal and external audiences.
  • Plan, develop, and implement processes and protocols to support research aims.
  • Serve as a unit liaison and subject matter expert among internal and external stakeholder groups.
  • Monitor program budget(s) and approve unit expenditures.
  • Develop policies, procedures, and institutional agreements on behalf of the program.
