Job Title: Direct Support Professional

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Professional to join our team at Developmental Services, Inc. - Columbus. As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities to live fulfilling lives.

Job Summary

The primary goal of this position is to provide individualized support to clients, promoting their independence, socialization, and overall well-being. You will work closely with clients, their families, and our team to develop and implement personalized care plans that cater to their unique needs and goals.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide active care and support to designated clients, including assistance with daily living skills, communication, and socialization.
  2. Develop and implement individualized care plans, ensuring that clients receive the necessary support to achieve their goals.
  3. Document client progress, including major activities and supports provided, in a professional and timely manner.
  4. Collaborate with clients, families, and our team to ensure seamless communication and coordination of care.
  5. Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
  6. Contribute to a positive and inclusive work environment, promoting a culture of respect, empathy, and understanding.
Requirements
  1. High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  2. Previous experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities is an asset.
  3. Ability to obtain and maintain certification in CPR, First Aid, and other relevant areas.
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
  5. Valid Indiana driver's license and reliable transportation.
