About the Role

TikTok is the leading destination for short-form mobile video, and our mission is to inspire creativity and bring joy. Our U.S. Data Security (USDS) division was created to bring heightened focus and governance to our data protection policies and content assurance protocols, ensuring the safety of U.S. users. We're seeking a skilled Site Reliability Engineer to join our Ads Data Platform team, responsible for designing and implementing reliable, scalable, and robust big data systems that support our core products and business.

Responsibilities

As a Site Reliability Engineer on our Ads Data Platform team, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, fault-tolerance, and efficiency of our data, services, and infrastructures. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Engaging in the entire lifecycle of services, from inception and design to deployment, operation, and refinement
  • Maintaining production services by measuring and monitoring availability, latency, and overall system health
  • Establishing best engineering practices for engineers and non-technical stakeholders
  • Designing and implementing reliable, scalable, and robust big data systems that support our core products and business

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, and equivalent practical experience. You should also have experience with algorithms and data structures, solid communication and collaboration skills, and experience with Big Data technologies such as M/R, Hive, Spark, Metastore, Presto, Flume, Kafka, ClickHouse, and Flink. Experience with Ads systems is a plus.
