Description

The Division Financial Controller is responsible for providing financial analysis, management reporting, planning, and accounting support to our growing global business. The ability to work independently is crucial. Prepare balance sheets and profit and loss statements, and other financial reports. Review and approve balance sheet reconciliations. Responsibilities also include budgeting and forecasting, financial month end close process, monthly results commentary, creating and preparing financial analysis, product costing analysis, track and communicate capital expenditure projects, excess and obsolete inventory review, ad hoc reporting, and leading all division site controllers. Special projects as assigned by the Division and VP of Finance.

Responsibilities:
  • Financial Reporting and Analysis:
    • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
    • Consolidate financial data from multiple plant locations, ensuring accuracy and integrity of financial reporting.
    • Monitor key financial metrics and provide insights into variances, trends, and performance drivers.
  • Cost Management and Control:
    • Oversee cost accounting processes to ensure accurate product costing and inventory valuation.
    • Implement cost-saving initiatives and identify opportunities for operational efficiency improvements.
    • Monitor and analyze manufacturing variances to drive cost optimization efforts.
  • Financial Planning and Forecasting:
    • Lead the annual budgeting process for the division, working closely with plant controllers and department heads to develop comprehensive financial forecasts.
    • Develop and maintain financial models to support long-term strategic planning initiatives.
    • Provide regular updates and analysis on financial performance against budget and forecast targets.
    • Consolidate plant level financials.
    • Assist in development of new & existing product costing for customer quoting.
    • Develop and prepare weekly/monthly/annual business and financial reporting schedules & packages.
  • ERP Implementation:
    • Collaborate with IT and operations teams to implement ERP systems at different plant sites.
    • Lead the design and configuration of financial modules within the ERP system to ensure alignment with business requirements.
    • Provide training and support to plant controllers and finance staff on ERP usage and best practices.
  • Internal Controls and Compliance:
    • Establish and maintain internal control procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
    • Coordinate external audits and ensure timely resolution of audit findings.
    • Develop and implement policies and procedures to mitigate financial risks.
  • Team Leadership and Development:
    • Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals, including plant controllers, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
    • Provide guidance and support to team members to enhance their skills and capabilities.
    • Promote a collaborative work environment and facilitate cross-functional collaboration.


Qualifications:

Candidate Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree (accounting major) with major coursework in business, finance accounting, and at least 5 years accounting/financial analysis experience within a manufacturing company and 3 years of management experience.
  • Must be highly computer literate with data mining and ERP systems, have strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, time management and analytical skills. Requires deadline driven, high-energy individual, able to work autonomously and lead as key contributor on teams.
  • The individual will be expected to be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the accounting and finance field, including cost accounting.
  • Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Be able to perform a variety of tasks and work under general supervision. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, strong interpersonal skills are a must, as well as willingness to accept and task ownership of new responsibilities in a fast-growing environment.
  • Additional requirements include a working knowledge of MS Excel, Word, and Outlook, and the ability to multi-task with moderate supervision. Experience with Cognos products would be plus, but not required.
