About the Job

As a Recycling Collection Specialist with Dreamville Staffing, you will be responsible for safely operating a garbage truck on specified routes to collect solid waste. Your day will consist of reading route sheets and servicing each customer identified on the sheet or assigned by the dispatcher.

Additionally, you will perform routine inspections and maintenance on vehicles, including checking fluids, safety equipment, and tires. You must be able to perform physically demanding tasks, such as loading and unloading, without any helpers.

The position also requires operating hydraulic hand controls to lift/load refuse and dispose of trash at designated facilities. It is essential to have courteous interactions with customers and perform other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

A typical schedule for this role is Monday-Friday, with an occasional Saturday as needed, amounting to a 50-hour work week.

Minimum Requirements
  • Valid Class B CDL or Class A CDL with air brakes endorsement as a minimum.
  • At least one year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Familiarity with truck components to complete pre-and post-trip inspections.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort

This role involves extensive physical activity and requires strenuous physical work, including heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling objects over 50 pounds.

You will be exposed to outside weather conditions, including frequent wet and/or humid conditions, as well as exposure to fumes and vibration.

Noise levels are typically moderate, but you will still need to follow basic safety precautions.
