About the Job

We are seeking a highly skilled Waste Management Specialist to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who enjoy working outdoors and taking pride in keeping our community clean.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Safe Operation of Garbage Trucks: Our ideal candidate will have the ability to safely operate a garbage truck on specified routes to collect solid waste.
  • Customer Service: We require someone who can read route sheets and service each customer identified on the sheet or assigned by the dispatcher.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: The successful candidate will be responsible for performing routine inspection and maintenance on vehicles such as checking fluids, safety equipment, and tires.
  • Physical Demands: This is a physically demanding job that requires loading and unloading with no helpers, operating hydraulic hand controls to lift/load refuse, and disposing of trash at designated facilities.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort:
  • This role involves extensive physical activity and requires strenuous physical work, including heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling objects over 50 pounds.
  • The employee will be exposed to outside weather conditions, including frequent wet and/or humid conditions, as well as exposure to fumes and vibration.
  • Noise levels are usually moderate.
