This position is part of the Leidos Space Exploration and Mission Operations division, supporting the Human Health and Performance Contract at NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas.

The team focuses on delivering analysis and technology to support the Artemis mission, establishing a sustainable human presence in outer space.

We are seeking a talented Gateway Human Factors Engineer to join our team and contribute to the design and development of human-system interfaces for spacecraft, habitats, and equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • ">
  • Apply human performance principles, methodologies, and technologies to design human-system interfaces.">
  • Identify and analyze technological problems or risks, perform theoretical human factors investigations, and develop evaluation and analysis plans.">
  • Develop evaluation methodologies and statistical analysis plans to test and assess developmental prototypes.">
  • Interface with design engineers to establish system design requirements and ensure optimized human-system interfaces.">
  • Provide human systems expertise and support to the design and development of human-system interfaces.">
  • Conduct task analysis, human error analysis, Human-in-the-Loop (HITL) testing, and provide human factors consulting services.">

Requirements:

  • ">
  • Master's degree in human factors, cognitive psychology, or closely related technical discipline.">
  • 8+ years of experience in the field or in a related area.">
  • Demonstrated skills in research/experimental design, task and error analysis, HITL testing, statistical analysis, and report writing.">
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and comfort interacting with stakeholders.">
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing requirements and work independently as well as collaboratively.">
  • Prior experience with NASA, ISS, Orion, or related work is desired.">
