About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Health Information Specialist II to join our team at Datavant. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of patient health information.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process and manage medical record requests in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of patient health information, adhering to Company and Facility policies and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain working knowledge of Company and facility software, ensuring seamless integration and data management.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to advance operational strategies and initiatives, driving process improvements and enhancing patient care.
  • Provide training and support to junior staff members, promoting knowledge sharing and skill development.
  • Generate reports and analytics to inform business decisions, ensuring data-driven insights and strategic planning.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; 1-year Health Information related experience preferred.
  • Ability to travel locally and regionally (75% or more) and work overtime during peak seasons.
  • Basic computer proficiency and strong data entry skills, with attention to detail and quality.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks, prioritize responsibilities, and respond to changing priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous production/metric-based work experience and in-person customer service experience.
  • Ability to build relationships with on-site clients and customers, and contribute to process improvement suggestions and feedback.
Working Conditions and Physical Demands

This role is generally performed in an office environment with minimal exposure to unpleasant and/or hazardous working conditions. The incumbent must be able to stand and sit frequently throughout an eight-hour period, reach horizontally and vertically for overhead use, and lift 20 lbs.
