Join Our Team
AARP is seeking an Advocacy Intern to join our team and contribute to local, state, and federal advocacy on policy issues that impact all New Jerseyans. As an intern, you will collaborate with AARP leadership and volunteers to advance issue advocacy campaigns and apply strategic, analytical, and creative thinking to help promote AARP's mission.

Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with AARP leadership and volunteers to advance issue advocacy campaigns
- Apply strategic, analytical, and creative thinking to help promote AARP's mission
- Engage in communications and grassroots mobilization strategies to advance issue campaigns
- Engage with state, local, and federal elected representatives and their staffs
- Research policy issues, draft documents to support advocacy efforts, participate in team meetings and strategy discussions, and engage in a support role for various events

Requirements
- Enrolled in a degree program at an accredited college/university or have previously graduated from college and enrolled in a continuing education program
- Ability to manage multiple projects, anticipate project needs, and discern work priorities
- Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
- Independent judgement in evaluation options

Benefits
This internship is a non-exempt position and is not eligible for employee benefits. However, remote work can be done within the United States and its territories, and regular and reliable job attendance is expected.
