Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Assessment Specialist I to join our Behavioral Health Services team at NorthShore University HealthSystem. As a key member of our team, you will conduct comprehensive assessments and evaluations of patients' mental health status, working closely with clinicians, patients, and families to provide critical insights and recommendations for treatment and care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations of patients' mental health status using standardized assessment tools and clinical interviews.
  • Collect and analyze relevant patient information, including medical history, social factors, and environmental factors.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to formulate accurate diagnostic impressions and treatment recommendations.
  • Establish rapport with patients and their families to create a supportive and therapeutic environment.
  • Communicate assessment findings and treatment recommendations effectively and empathetically.
  • Provide crisis intervention and support to patients experiencing acute mental health crises.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of assessments, evaluations, and patient interactions in compliance with hospital policies and legal regulations.
  • Prepare concise and comprehensive assessment reports for clinicians and treatment teams.
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide consultation and guidance to staff on mental health-related issues and best practices.
Requirements
  • Masters Degree in Counseling, Clinical Psychology, or Social Work.
  • 2 Years of experience in behavioral health assessment and evaluation.
  • Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Licensed Clinical Psychologist (LCP) in the state of Illinois.
