We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Referral Coordinator to join our team at Good Shepherd Health Care. As a Referral Coordinator, you will play a critical role in ensuring seamless communication between providers, patients, and our clinical staff.
Key Responsibilities- Patient Scheduling: Schedule, cancel, or reschedule patient referral appointments for physicians according to practice guidelines.
- Chart Preparation: Assist in preparing patient charts by verifying insurance coverage, referral, and medical record information.
- Document Scanning: Scan documents into electronic charts and ensure records are complete and up-to-date.
- Message Taking: Take messages for patients and ensure timely delivery of messages to clinical staff.
- Appointment No-Shows: Document appointment no-shows in Epic if front staff are unable to do so.
- Education: High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
- Language Skills: Bilingual and/or English-Spanish speaking preferred for customer service interpretation duties.
- Computer Skills: Knowledge of computers, phones, and other office equipment.
- Insurance Knowledge: Knowledge of insurance regulations and medical terminology.
Inside environment protected from the weather, variable noise levels, occasionally subject to combative customers or verbal altercations with co-workers, subject to a rapid pace creating an unpredictable environment, and subject to possible exposure to infection, contagious disease, or hazardous materials.
