Job Title: Portfolio Manager

Job Summary:

Chandler Asset Management is seeking a skilled Portfolio Manager to join our team. As a key player in the financial landscape of the firm, this role demands a seamless integration with the Investment Management Team, active participation in committees, and a consistent pulse on market developments to inform strategic decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct daily management of client portfolios, ensuring that each portfolio is aligned with the clients' investment goals and risk profiles.
  • Provide research support to Senior Portfolio Managers, focusing on developing and enhancing credit analysis skills for various sectors and providing valuable insights for the Credit Committee, alongside its co-chairs and senior members.
  • Engage actively in Portfolio Management committees, contributing to the discussions and decision-making processes that drive the firm's investment strategies.
  • Keep abreast of financial market trends and developments to make informed decisions that reflect the current economic environment.
  • Facilitate open discussions within the Investment Management Team to encourage the exchange of ideas and collaborative problem-solving.
  • Create comprehensive documentation for investment strategies and operational procedures to maintain a consistent approach to portfolio management.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing department to analyze new business Requests for Proposals (RFPs), ensuring that portfolio management perspectives are well-represented.
  • Produce in-depth "white papers" on relevant investment topics and deliver oral presentations under the guidance of the Chief Investment Officers (CIOs).
  • Represent the firm at industry conferences, serving as a knowledgeable and professional point of contact for current trends and firm capabilities.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree in finance, business, economics, or a related field, along with a CFA designation required.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in the asset management industry, with a focus on fixed income portfolios.
  • Advanced skills in Excel, database management, and Bloomberg.
  • A solid understanding of financial markets, the asset management business and its processes.
  • A track record of successfully managing fixed income portfolios and the capability to engage effectively with clients.
  • The ability to collaborate efficiently in team settings and work cross-departmentally is necessary.
  • Experience with risk management and strategic planning within the asset management sector.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing market conditions and regulatory environments.
  • Leadership experience, with the capacity to mentor junior staff and lead by example.
  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate investment opportunities and market risks.
