The Director of Nursing Services will hold ultimate administrative responsibility for nursing standards and practices across all departments:

· Ensure the provision of continuous and timely nursing services to all patients.

· Maintain nursing standards, practices, policies, and procedures in compliance with applicable laws and national professional standards.

· Lead nursing service performance improvement initiatives.

· Actively engage in leadership functions within the hospital.

· Collaborate with other hospital leaders to design and deliver patient care services, ensuring the availability of qualified nursing staff.

· Develop, present, and manage the nursing services budget.

Additional responsibilities include:

· Formulate and implement a comprehensive nursing plan aligned with hospital policies and objectives to ensure continuous nursing care.

· Develop, implement, and interpret nursing and patient care policies, objectives, and standards for quality nursing care.

· Manage the nursing services budget and expense control systems.

· Prepare a master staffing plan for nursing services.

· Organize, direct, and supervise daily nursing operations to ensure adequate coverage and quality care.

· Recruit, interview, evaluate, and hire qualified nursing personnel to meet patient needs.

· Participate in the development and maintenance of the hospital's quality assurance and improvement program through service evaluations and audits.

· Maintain effective communication with medical and administrative staff through regular meetings and committee involvement.

· Assess long-term and short-term equipment and supply needs for nursing care.

· Plan and implement orientation and educational programs to foster staff development.

· Recommend and participate in the development of new patient care initiatives to expand nursing services.

· Represent the hospital in healthcare programs and professional organizations to promote public relations and professional growth.

Qualifications

· Must be a Licensed Registered Nurse with a solid understanding of nursing principles, theories, and standards, typically acquired through a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.

· A Master's Degree is required (MSN or MHA).

Experience

· A minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Director of Nursing Services in a healthcare organization.

· Previous experience with accreditation preparation and survey processes is preferred.
