Job Overview

Max Manufacturing, a prominent local metal fabrication enterprise, is seeking a skilled CAD Drafter & Programmer. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that part drawings for client orders are technically accurate and will employ Laser Nesting software to program components for daily production. The CAD Drafter will verify that customer orders are organized and nested to optimize material usage while utilizing specialized ERP software to create and monitor orders. Our company is dedicated to craftsmanship and prioritizes client satisfaction, quality, and safety in all our projects.

Key Responsibilities

The primary duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Program and nest components for laser cutting using specialized software for daily operations.
  • Employ 2D and 3D CAD software to develop part drawings for client orders.
  • Assist in designing customer parts/orders for efficient manufacturing.
  • Create clear and cohesive shop drawings for production and client reference as necessary.
  • Utilize ERP software to generate orders as required, including for walk-in clients.
  • Collaborate with shop personnel to facilitate the fabrication of production and specialty orders.
  • Ensure that product or machinery designs comply with industry standards and safety regulations.
  • Integrate technology and aesthetics to achieve the desired output, leveraging experience in a sheet metal fabrication setting.
Qualifications

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

  • High School diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • Bachelor's degree in architecture or a related field, with 1-2 years of drafting experience preferred.
  • Proficient computer skills, including MS Office Suite and Adobe Photoshop.
  • Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication abilities.
  • Attention to detail and efficiency are essential.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt quickly to changes.
  • A strong customer-focused approach for both internal and external clients, demonstrating professionalism.
