Position Overview:

As a Senior Project Engineering Manager, you will spearhead transformative capital projects exceeding $25M, overseeing them from initial concept through to final execution. Your role will be pivotal in connecting internal teams with external partners, ensuring meticulous management of deliverables, timelines, and costs. You will lead initiatives across production, maintenance, growth, regulatory, and environmental sectors, utilizing advanced tools for planning and communication. Your expertise will be essential in facilitating project meetings, monitoring progress, and optimizing resources to guarantee efficient project execution, on schedule, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Engineering Oversight: Assess and critique engineering proposals, drawings, specifications, and contractor bids.
  • Leadership: Direct project review meetings with both internal and external engineering and construction teams.
  • Communication: Deliver prompt feedback to external stakeholders regarding all requested project information, including equipment specifications, drawings, and site standards.
  • Project Management: Oversee the execution of multiple capital projects across various locations, ensuring timely and budget-compliant completion.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with business teams and plant resources to establish clear project scopes, budgets, and timelines, securing necessary approvals and funding.
  • Vendor Management: Engage with external resources, including equipment and engineering suppliers, to design and implement projects; directly lead external engineering teams.
  • Equipment Procurement: Acquire and validate equipment to meet all specifications and supervise testing at vendor facilities.
  • Progress Tracking: Regularly update and transparently communicate project status, ensuring objectives are met within established budgets and timelines.
  • Technical Support: Offer technical assistance to enhance plant efficiency, safety, quality, and sustainability, while developing technical resources.
  • On-Site Support: Aid in troubleshooting and resolving issues, facilitating the sharing of lessons learned across sites.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records and all project correspondence, keeping stakeholders informed of progress.
  • Construction Monitoring: Supervise construction activities, minimizing change orders and ensuring seamless project execution.
  • Operational Excellence: Compile project Operation and Maintenance (O&M) documentation and support initiatives to enhance plant reliability, profitability, and modernization.
  • Safety & Compliance: Promote and execute actions that are safe and environmentally responsible, adhering to all company policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher preferred.
  • Extensive experience managing capital expenditure projects exceeding $25M.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple high-stakes projects simultaneously.
  • 10+ years of experience in a food manufacturing environment and project management.
  • Strong understanding of food packaging principles, industry quality standards, and food safety regulations.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across all organizational levels.
  • Demonstrated success in completing projects on time and within budget.
  • Strong attention to detail and adept problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience with technologies such as liquid and powder mixing/blending, thermal processing, food packaging, facility design/construction, and utility systems.
  • Direct experience in plant operations, maintenance, and/or engineering.
  • Formal project management training or certifications are advantageous.
  • Strong leadership capabilities with the ability to motivate and guide teams.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Experience presenting to executive leadership and stakeholders.
  • Commitment to fostering a positive workplace culture and upholding company values.
  • Familiarity with engineering principles and proficiency in MS Office 365, project management tools, and ERP systems.
  • Aptitude for analyzing data, identifying trends, and making informed decisions.
  • Creative problem-solving skills to navigate project challenges.
Hours, Location, and Compensation:

We offer a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package for full-time employees. This position will primarily operate from our facility, with occasional travel as business needs arise.

Physical and Mental Demands:
