TLC Nursing is currently seeking a Travel Nurse RN specializing in the Gastrointestinal Lab for an exciting travel nursing opportunity.

Position Overview

The Gastrointestinal Lab Registered Nurse (RN) plays a critical role in providing exceptional nursing care to patients undergoing various gastrointestinal procedures, including endoscopies and colonoscopies. This position requires a dedicated professional who ensures patient safety and comfort throughout the entire process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Assessment: Evaluate patients' needs prior to procedures and clearly communicate the details, including potential risks and benefits.
  • Medication Administration: Administer necessary pre-procedure medications and monitor vital signs throughout the procedure.
  • Assisting Physicians: Support the physician during procedures by providing instruments, retracting tissue, and managing suctioning as required.
  • Monitoring: Observe patients' conditions during procedures and promptly report any changes to the physician.
  • Post-Procedure Care: Administer post-procedure medications and monitor recovery, ensuring patients are stable.
  • Patient Education: Provide comprehensive instructions to patients and families regarding post-procedure care and follow-up.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the healthcare team to guarantee the highest standard of patient care.
  • Documentation: Maintain thorough and accurate patient records, including assessments and care plans.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a current RN license, a Bachelor's degree in Nursing, and at least two years of experience in a GI lab or similar environment. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, along with the ability to thrive in high-pressure situations. A solid understanding of gastrointestinal procedures and patient care in this specialized field is also required.
