About the Job

We are seeking a highly skilled Neurodiagnostic Technologist to join our team at Neuro Pathway LLC in Chicago, Illinois.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for gathering diagnostic data from specific neurological examinations for physician interpretation. This includes extracting pertinent data and information from patient charts, patients, and family members to assist the physician in interpreting the data acquired.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality neurodiagnostic testing in a timely and cost-effective manner, including electroencephalographic testing (routine, inpatient, outpatient, portable, extended).
  • Obtain pertinent patient history from patient/parent/caregiver/chart.
  • Apply electrodes (probe) in proper positions, check the integrity of the application, and calibrate as necessary.
  • Record EEG data with standard montages for either adult/pediatric/neonatal as appropriately determined.
  • Recognize artifacts and troubleshoot to eliminate artifacts, document any changes in patient condition/events while recording EEG data, and mark any potential abnormalities.
  • Use activation procedures as appropriate for each patient.
Patient Satisfaction

The successful candidate will participate in departmental activities to improve/maintain patient satisfaction, including AIDET, service recovery, and new initiatives.

Departmental Documentation
  • Charge patient in appropriate system.
  • Maintain daily statistics/log of departmental activity.
  • Prepare physician documentation.
  • Ensure that an appropriate report of the procedure is completed and in the patient record.
  • Ensure reports are faxed to the referring doctors.
Maintenance of EEG Lab and Supplies
  • Maintain adequate inventory of supplies in the department.
  • Appropriately store supplies in department.
  • Inform the manager/supervisor of any special department needs.
  • Keep work area/department/equipment clean and orderly.
  • Keep work area safe and notify manager/supervisor of any safety concerns.
Equipment
  • Maintain equipment in optimal working order.
  • Contact Bio-Med or Building Operations as needed.
  • Maintain working knowledge of all departmental equipment.
Professional/Personal Growth Activities
  • Complete all mandatory education.
  • Participate in 70% of team meetings.
  • Review current literature and keep up to date with changes in the EEG technology field.
  • Participate in departmental/hospital-wide projects and activities as assigned.
Requirements
  • High school education and 1-2 years formal EEG training or experience.
  • Eligible to sit in EEG board exam.

We offer a competitive salary range of $24.65-$36.65, as well as a $5,000 sign-on bonus for full-time employees.
