Job Summary:

This role is responsible for ensuring the proper decontamination, cleaning, processing, and sterilization of reusable medical devices and equipment used in patient care. The successful candidate will also be responsible for assembling and dispatching surgical case carts, as well as maintaining accurate inventory levels and adhering to departmental and OSHA standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Decontaminate and clean reusable equipment and instruments in accordance with departmental and OSHA standards.
  • Assemble, sterilize, store, and distribute medical devices and supplies for patient care.
  • Organize and assemble surgical case carts based on computer-generated physician preference cards.
  • Perform physical inventories of floor stock and SPD to ensure accuracy and integrity of system processes.
  • Collaborate with Material Management to monitor supply usage, storage, and organization of materials.
  • Operate and understand inventory control devices and programs, including Meditech.
  • Effectively communicate with inter/intradepartmental associates and demonstrate ability to initiate, receive, and relay calls and messages accurately.
  • Adapt assessment, treatment, and/or service methods to accommodate the unique physical, psychosocial, cultural, age-specific, and other developmental needs of each member served.
  • Ensure compliance with all policies, procedures, and standards as promulgated by state and federal agencies, the hospital, and other regulatory entities.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 6 to 12 months of practical application experience gained on the job in all facets of sterile processing considered.
  • Sterile processing experience preferred.
  • Certified Endoscope Reprocessor (CER) by IAHCSMM preferred.
  • Certified Registered Central Sterile Tech preferred.

Work Schedule: 5 days, 8 hours

Work Type: Full-time
