Key Responsibilities:
  • Receive Shipments: Accept and inspect incoming deliveries of fresh produce, checking for quality, quantity, and any signs of damage.
  • Document Handling: Maintain accurate records of shipments and deliveries, including logs, invoices, and other necessary paperwork.
  • Inventory Management: Update inventory systems to reflect current stock levels, and assist in managing stock rotation to ensure freshness.
  • Coordinate Shipments: Prepare and coordinate outgoing shipments, ensuring produce is packaged properly and shipped on time.
  • Quality Control: Regularly inspect produce in storage for freshness and quality, reporting any issues to the appropriate departments.
  • Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment, including proper handling and storage of produce.
  • Communication: Work closely with suppliers, drivers, and internal teams to coordinate shipments and resolve any logistical issues.
  • Equipment Use: Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
Qualifications:
  • Experience: Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations, preferably in the food or produce industry.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to accurately track shipments and inventory.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to lift and move heavy boxes of produce, stand for long periods, and work in varying temperatures.
  • Communication Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with team members and external partners.
  • Technical Skills: Basic computer skills and familiarity with inventory management systems.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Additional training or certification in logistics or warehouse operations is a plus.
