Job Title: Certified Surgical Technologist

We are seeking a skilled Certified Surgical Technologist to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health. As a key member of our surgical team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and ensuring a safe and efficient operating room environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare the surgical field and supplies/instruments for procedures
  • Assist in emergency situations as assigned
  • Maintain a safe work environment according to regulatory agency standards
  • Assist in opening sterile supplies and instruments
  • Efficiently utilize supplies to avoid waste and decrease costs
  • Verify specific needs of physicians by completely reading scrub tips
  • Collaborate with healthcare team to provide a cooperative work environment
  • Responsible for compliance with hospital policies and procedures
  • Maintain patient confidentiality
  • Utilize guest relation techniques with members of healthcare team and patients
Requirements:
  • High school graduate or GED
  • Completion of ST program in an accredited school approved by NBSTSA (National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting)
  • CPR certification
  • CST Certification approved by NBSTSA (National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting)
Working Conditions:

May be exposed to hazardous materials and life-threatening disease and radiation. Ability to stand for long periods of time. Ability to lift 50 pounds. Ability to cooperate and work well with others. Ability to communicate with mask on and not facing others. Ability to work in a stressful, changing environment. Ability to work designated shifts, including weekends and holidays. Ability to assume on-call responsibility.
