Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Chargemaster Specialist to join our team at the University of Missouri. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing duties related to the implementation, maintenance, and review of the Hospital Chargemaster (CDM) to ensure it is complete, accurate, and standardized.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform periodic reviews of the CDM, including external reviews by auditors and contracted consultants.
- Resolve and/or rebill hold bills, claim edits, claim rejections, claim denials, and underpayments related to the CDM.
- Monitor and communicate changes to coding and billing requirements from governmental and commercial payers that impact the CDM.
- Maintain an up-to-date, complete, accurate, and compliant CDM in conjunction with clinical departments and related computer systems.
- Ensure revenue capture, reconciliation, and posting to the IDX Hospital Patient Account system.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in nursing, medical records, hospital administration, business, finance, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Three (3) years of experience in a healthcare field.
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Professional Coder-Hospital (CPC-H) certification by American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) is preferred.
